Usage limits
This page explains how usage limits work and when they reset.
| Checks | 5 per week |
| When checks reset | Every Monday at 12:00 AM in your account's time zone (UTC if you use the plugin without signing in) |
| References per check | Up to 25 |
| Exports (CSV, BibTeX, report) | Available in ChatGPT after signing in |
What counts as a check?
One check is one run over one submitted text, such as a draft or a reference list, up to the reference limit above. Looking up a single citation or a claim on its own also counts as one check. Follow-up lookups on references from a check you ran in the last 24 hours don't use another check. Listing the references in a text without looking them up never uses a check.
Your current usage and reset time are shown on the Account page, and in ChatGPT when you ask Citeproof how many checks you have left. The same limits apply on the website and in ChatGPT.
